Three best romance movies based on romance novels

This article lists 3 movies based on romance books that are great.I love movies. Sure, I love reading more, but sometimes movies provide a sense of relaxation different from a book. A movie is a fixed length, it uses a different part of my concentration- essentially a movie-watching experience is just extremely different from reading a book. This is one of the reasons why it is so difficult to please me when movies are based off of books I love.
I will admit I am very difficult to please when it comes to movies based on books, but these three romances are a few movies I actually think did their novels justice.

1. The Notebook, by Nicholas Sparks. This is one of the few cases where I think  the movie was actually better than the book. Don't get me wrong; Sparks's book was a great romantic novels... But the film has Ryan Gosling in it. Any woman will admit a movie gains major points for featuring Ryan gosling as the hero. This story is about a summer romance which turns into a deep love. And the ending is sweetly sad and wonderful. There are those who claim they cannot watch The Notebook without crying, but I am not one of those people. For me, the ending is a happy one. It is about as romantic as you can get with old people and death involved. (I hope that wasn't too much of a spoiler for anybody who hasn't seen this great romance yet.)

2. Gone With the Wind, by Margaret Mitchell. There may be some debate as to whether or not this book qualifies as technically a romance novel, because it also deals with issues such as the civil war and the changes a society makes after a tragedy, but for our purposes, we will declare tI a romance. In my opinion, the relationship between Scarlett and Rhett Butler makes Gone With the Wind one of the greatest romance novels of our time. The film is a classic. It is an old movie (they bragged about it being in technicolor), very long, but brilliantly done. Vivian Leigh is a feisty Scarlett and Clark Gable cannot be anybody in my mind except for Rhett Butler. If you haven't seen Gone With the Wind, or read the book, do both as soon as you can. They are both long, but when you finish them, you will wish they were longer.

3. The Twilight Series, by Stephanie Meyer. Twilight has had a lot of bad press on the Internet in past years, but one cannot argue that these books and films are a wild success. Personally, I have read all the books and seen all of the films; they aren't my favorites, but I list them here because they aren't as horrible as they are made out to be. Yes, the romance between Bella and Edward can seem a bit obsessive to an adult reader, but one must remember that these books are for teens. I read them when I was a teenager myself, and I didn't find anything odd about the relationship between the characters at the time. For a teen, love is obsessive and all-consuming. Because the Twilight books accurately represent that, I include them on the best romance movies made from books list. The film accurately portrays the books, which accurately portray teenage hormones.

Now that you've read this articleFeature Articles, perhaps you can have a movie night at your next bookclub meeting. Discuss some differences and similarities. I know I love watching a romance based on a book with someone else who has read the book... It allows for so much discussion!
